Since writing a post on UK restaurants using Twitter, I have kept an eye out for more examples to add to the list.
My List of UK Restaurants now stands at 67 and I have made it available using twitter’s new lists feature.
I have noticed a lot of good things due to my new awareness for restaurants on Twitter. @giraffetweet, @Las_Iguanas and @LePetitSquare were all nice enough to donate meals and vouchers to the Reading Twestival back in September. @Missionmexgrill has opened a new restaurant in Reading, they have done a great job of engaging with the locals and getting us all excited about burritos.
When my birthday treat of going to a Green Day concert fell through (no tickets due to postal strikes), I was asked what I would like to do instead. As a girl who loves her food, I had recently been excited to discover L’Ortolan (@lortolan), Reading’s only Michelin starred restaurant, using twitter. Being at the forefront of my mind (especially since I had spent the previous weeks drooling over Masterchef the Professionals), I chose this as my birthday treat. So, last Thursday I indulged in 10 courses of the most incredible food I have ever eaten! We chose the chef’s surprise menu, and it made for a very exciting night of food. Something everybody should do at least once.
