I’ve decided that I’d like to use my blog to discuss movies I enjoy. Going to the cinema is one of my favourite activities and when that co-insides with my geeky side, I couldn’t be happier.
This year there is a lot for my geeky side to look forward to.
X-Men Origins – Wolverine will be in Cinemas on 1st May. With so many unanswered questions about this character and so many great stories left to tell, this can’t fail to be entertaining. You can watch the trailer for X-Men Origins Wolverine here.
STAR TREK is released the following week on 8th May. As an avid trekker since I was six, I can’t explain how excited I am about this. I am most looking forward to Simon Pegg’s performance as Scotty.
Terminater – Salvation looks very exciting, the casting of Christian Bale (his verbal pyrotechnics not withstanding) a stroke of genius. As one of my favourite franchises, I hope this new instalment not only lives up its predecessors but finds something new to surprise us. You can see the trailer here.
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is FINALLY going to be released on 17th July. I could not communicate my disappointment and frustration when the release date was pushed back from November 2008. It seems like a lifetime ago that I went to see the 5th instalment with my best friend in Aylesbury. We have seen all the movies together (usually multiple times) and are huge fans of the books.
I am also looking forward to another Ice Age movie also out in July, this time set to have dinosaurs. Another Final Destination is set to make us jump at the sight of our own shadows in August and I’m sure to be taken along to see another Transformers movie by the Hubby in June.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts on these sequels as they come up. What are you looking forward to seeing in 2009?

Can’t wait for Star Trek and Wolverine myself but the wife is all Harry Potter.
I’m really pleased the links were useful. I’m looking forward to Star Trek and Harry Potter the most. Feels like I’ve been waiting forever to see them.
When you see the films, check back and let me know what you thought.
